When the cover cannot stop at the end of a shift.

Most schedules start small and grow. This page is about the far end of that range: nights, weekends, and cover that carries on when everybody else has gone home.

The schedules we staff

  • Overnight care
  • Weekend and holiday care
  • Round-the-clock care
  • A nurse on call after hours

There is no fixed minimum. Schedules run from a few hours a week to 24-hour care, and they change as needs change.

Awake through the night, or there to be woken

These are two different arrangements, and the difference matters more than almost anything else on a care plan. One has a caregiver up and working through the night. The other has somebody in the house who sleeps, and gets up when they are needed.

Abloom staffs both. Which one a household needs is rarely obvious from a diagnosis, so it comes out of the assessment: how often somebody is actually up, what they need when they are, and whether the answer on a bad night is the same as on an ordinary one. Tell us what the last few nights have been like and we will work from that.

Questions families ask

Is care really available 24/7?
Yes. We staff overnight, weekend and round-the-clock schedules, and a nurse is on call after hours for the people in our care.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
No fixed minimum. Schedules run from a few hours a week to 24-hour care, and they change as needs change.
Does somebody stay awake all night?
They can. We staff both a waking night and a sleeping night, and which one fits is settled at the assessment. Tell us how often somebody is up and what they need when they are.

Start with the nights

Nights and weekends are usually where a household runs out first. Tell us which, and we will talk through what cover would look like.
